A podcast about sustainability and symphony orchestras
Why:
To increase the reach of the messages from the Nordic Green Orchestra Guide and to show the world, including a wide range of orchestras and ensembles, how the guide's themes can be put into practice, we saw a need to convey this through a podcast series. By interviewing key figures from the organizations and connecting their insights to the content of the guide, we aim to create a narrative about how each organization works with sustainability. This will include organizational challenges, integration, political aspects, practical obstacles, and the crucial dialogue with and influence on the audience. The podcasts will be recorded throughout our journey with the Nordic Green Orchestra Accelerator as we get to know each organization and identify where the “good stories” lie. Thus, the Accelerator program will also serve as research for the podcast series, with the knowledge we gain about the organizations' transition journeys being captured and shared in a podcast format.
About:
Welcome to a podcast about Nordic symphony orchestras and their work with the green transition. The podcast is funded by the Augustinus foundation and is created in collaboration between BARC Scandinavia, the Organization of Danish Orchestra and Opera Institutions and the Danish Institute for Cultural Policy Analysis. Through six episodes, we dive into the six main chapters from the Nordic Green Orchestra Guide, with leaders from different Nordic Orchestras who all participated in the nordic green accelerator program in 2024. The podcast is created by Jakob Teglgaard and Christian Goldbach.
